Who we are
JamiiTek Insights is the publication of JamiiTek, a technology company in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We cover technology, the digital economy, mobile money and fintech, startups, telecoms and business news that matters to business owners in Tanzania and East Africa.
How our stories are made
- A person approves every story. Nothing is published automatically. An editor reviews, edits and approves each article before it goes live.
- We credit our sources. When a story builds on reporting by another outlet, we name it and link to the original report so readers can check it.
- We add our own analysis. News articles include a section on what the story means for Tanzanian businesses, written by our editors from their own experience.
- We don't make things up. We do not invent quotes, figures, names or events. If a detail is not confirmed, we say so.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help monitor news sources, summarise reports and prepare first drafts. AI does not publish anything. An editor checks the facts against the original sources, rewrites where needed, and writes the analysis before an article is published. The editor named on the article is responsible for it.
Accuracy and corrections
If you find an error, email info@jamiitek.com with the article link. We check every correction request. When we fix a factual error, we update the article and show the updated time on the page.
Images
Where we use stock photos (for example from Unsplash), they are labelled as illustrative and do not show the people or places in the story unless the caption says so.
Independence and disclosure
JamiiTek sells websites, hosting and WhatsApp bots. When an article mentions our own products or clients, we say so clearly. Paid or sponsored content is always labelled "Sponsored", and advertisers do not influence our news coverage.
Comments
We welcome respectful discussion. We remove spam, personal attacks, hate speech and content that breaks the law. Replies from our team carry a JAMIITEK badge.
